La proposta di un teatro-auditorium per la città di Cassina de’ Pecchi: uno spazio polifunzionale per lo spettacolo, il teatro, ma anche per conferenze, proiezioni, eventi, incontri pubblici. La cavea del teatro, in adiacenza a un centro commerciale esistente in stato di abbandono, sfrutta la morfologia del terreno che digrada verso il piano interrato dell’edificio stesso. La cavea è costituita da gradonate mobili, che consentono un uso differenziato della sala e dei suoi spazi, che al piano interrato sono estremamente flessibili, e per questo utilizzabili anche per esposizioni temporanee, salette di prova e spazi per feste e conferenze. Il palcoscenico è sormontato da grandi travi reticolari che reggono la graticciata, contengono gli impianti e costruiscono il fronte su cui si attesta la copertura emiciclica della cavea. Un’architettura degli spazi essenziale e rigorosa, per un teatro a vocazione contemporanea in cui tutto accade dentro il perimetro dell’azione teatrale. Un teatro nudo che deve essere riempito da suoni, voci, gesti, corpi, emozioni, con scena integrata nella sala, privo di boccascena e di palcoscenico rialzato per un maggior coinvolgimento del pubblico nell’azione teatrale.
Proposal for a theatre auditorium for the city of Cassina de’ Pecchi: a multi-purpose space for performances, theatre, as well as conferences, screenings, events and public meetings. The cavea of the theatre, adjacent to a pre-existing yet abandoned shopping centre, makes use of the morphology of the ground, which slopes towards the underground floor of the building. The cavea consists of mobile steps, allowing for different uses of the hall and its spaces; these are extremely flexible on the underground level, and therefore may also be used as rehearsal rooms or for temporary exhibitions, parties or conferences. Over the stage there are large lattices supporting the rigging loft; these contain the mechanical and electrical systems and build the front with the hemicyclic covering of the cavea. An essential and rigorous design of the spaces for a contemporary theatre, where everything occurs inside the boundaries of theatre action. A nude theatre to be filled with sounds, voices, gestures, bodies, and emotions, with a stage that is integrated into the hall, with neither proscenium nor elevated stage for greater involvement on the part of the audience.
